My beautifully mummy passed away on 20th April 2015, after being diagnosed just 6 short weeks previously. She was only 54 years old. A mum to 3 girls, a step mum to another 4 children, a wife to Mark & a grandma to 6 grandchildren. Life will never be the same without her and each day the hole she left in our hearts becomes more obvious. 

Ovarian cancer is known as the silent killer for women. My mum had previously had her ovaries removed and the cancer had been found but she was told it had all been removed. She had check ups every 3 months & she had had the all clear only a fortnight before her diagnosis in February. The checks unfortunately are not successful in finding it and this means more & more women go undiagnosed until it is too late. 

Symptoms if the cancer has grown outside the ovary:
💗 Irregular periods or vaginal bleeding after menopause.
💗 Lower tummy (abdominal) pain.
💗 Back pain.
💗 Passing urine more often than usual.
💗 Constipation.
💗 Pain during sex.
💗 A swollen abdomen.
💗 Feeling of fullness or loss of appetite.

On the 12th March 2016, 3 of my friends & I will take part in the Mighty Deerstalker in Edinburgh. It's around 10 miles in distance, at night, in the dark, over natural obstacles such as rivers, hills, nettings etc and the average finish time is 167 minutes.
